Palace of the Prince is the most famous historical landmark of the city. Many years ago the palace has been used as the residence of local rulers; nowadays the walls of the magnificent building are home to a collection of City Museum. The halls of the palace astonish its visitors by luxurious interior. On warm months of the year they become the venue for various festivals and concerts of classical music. Among the religious sites that are worth noting is Church of St. Blasius, which is named after the first patron of Dubrovnik. Blasius constantly saved citizens of the city from aggressors, warned merchants and rulers of the plans of enemies. Even nowadays local residents devote many national holidays to their patron saint, honoring this amazing person, who lived here in the 10th century. Loggia Square is the location of a beautiful church named after St Vlach. Fine stained glass windows are the main decoration of the church. The hall of the church is the location of a huge statue of St. Vlach. It was made of silver of highest standard and covered with thin gold leaf. This is a true masterpiece of jewelry.
