The most important historical attraction of the island is the museum representing the settlement of Skrip. That’s a very interesting architectural complex. The ancient settlement is situated on a mountain top, which makes it look even more mysterious. There lots of beautiful mansions and churches have remained; one of the finest palaces is housing the Archaeological Museum. The western slope of the mountain is famous due to Blaca desert. This area also has great historical significance. Hermits have established a large monastery there in the mid-16th century. Today, several surviving old buildings remind about that. Some buildings of the former monastery were completely preserved; a large tank to collect rainwater has to be mentioned among them. Inhabitants of the monastery were monks producing honey and wine; their storage containers are essential artifacts of a local museum.

Brac is famous for its picturesque beaches. There are both pebble and sand beaches in the region. In the southern part of the island, visitors will find a very unusual beach - Zlatni Rat. It is located on the cape that has the same name. The beach has become a popular local landmark because it changes its shape every day because of waves and wind. The length of the cape is approximately 300 meters, and this territory is almost completely covered with pines.
