The Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana invites all comers to get acquainted with the development of the country's architecture in the 20th-21st centuries, things created by Slovenian designers, posters, magazines, calendars, 12 thousand photos in different techniques, old cameras, and much more. The museum will be of interest not only to designers and photographers but also to those enthusiastic about history and beautiful things. A few years ago, the Ljubljana Puppet Theater opened the Puppet Museum presenting a huge collection of puppet dolls of different periods, some of which are a hundred years old. In total, there are about three thousand unique and distinctive puppets. The museum also has a souvenir shop.
In Ajdovščina, you can find Pilon Gallery fully dedicated to the artist and photographer Veno Pilon, an important figure in Slovenian art. Artworks and reproductions, letters, personal belongings of the master are collected here in the artist's house. It often hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists, architects, sculptors, and other creators. The War Museum is located in the town of Logatec. This is a private collection displaying artifacts of Slovenian military history from ancient times to the War of Independence in 1991. Uniforms, weapons, photographs, letters, books, personal belongings, and medals tell the history of battles in the Slovene lands. The Museum of Recent History can be found in the town of Celje. It keeps a dental collection covering the history of dental business in Slovenia, the Memorial place for victims of Nazi violence, collections of children's art, weapons, farewell letters, scales, toys, and much more. The museum also runs a shop selling replicas of some exhibits.
The huge Podčetrtek Castle is located in the municipality of the same name. The first mention of this majestic structure dates back to the 13th century. Throughout its long history, the castle has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. After the destruction by an earthquake in the 1970s, the building has never been renovated. The castle is not available to the public for safety reasons due to its bad condition. However, views from the hill on which it stands are as magnificent as the castle itself. "Šance" in Ljubljana is a historical monument representing the rebuilt remains of a 16th-century fort on the "Castle Hill" where the castle overlooking the city once stood.

The Kluže Fortress was built in the middle of the 15th century in Bovec to protect it from the Turks. Part of it was destroyed by a fire at the beginning of the 20th century, the other part was ravaged during the First World War. Franja Partisan Hospital located 5 kilometers west of Cerkno was a secret World War II hospital. This is a real monument to human perseverance. The hospital built at the beginning of the 40's by guerrilla forces is located in a gorge in the mountains. The Nazi invaders have repeatedly tried to find the hospital but did not succeed. The hospital had successfully operated until the very end of the war.

In Slovenia there is a strange castle, one of the most impregnable defense systems in the world. It is the Predjamski Grad (Cave Castle Lueg), built on the rock wall, whose height is 123 meters. The age of the castle is more than 700 years. The first official mention of the castle date back to 1202.
