The Dixie Maru Beach (that is also called Kapukahehu by the locals) is another wonderful beach for family recreation. It is located in the west of the island. Unlike the Kepuhi Beach, it is quite small. It is famous for its picturesque landscapes so you should definitely walk with your family here. In the north-west of the island, there is another interesting beach, Kawakiu. It is a small cove that is suitable for swimming. It is quiet and peaceful here. As for parks on Molokai, the Moloka'i Forest Reserve in the north and the Hālawa Beach Park in the east are worth being visited. They have picturesque views that you must see at least once.
On the northern coast, there is another wonderful natural attraction, Nene O Molokai. Here, visitors can learn about Hawaii brants, or “nenes”, that are at risk of extinction due to predators delivered to the island. They are safe here and children can even feed them and appreciate all the charms of this place. You should also learn more about the culture and history of the island in the Molokai Museum and Cultural Center. There was a sugar mill once. Today, it is an ethnographic museum. Its exhibits are products produced in the sugar mill and original action pictures of Kualapuʻu. The museum is located near the Ironwood Hills Golf Club, in the north of the island not far from the city of Kualapuʻu.
As for restaurants and cafes where you can take your children to, the following are worth being mentioned: Kamoi Snack-n-Go where you can taste unrivaled ice cream; the Kanemitsu Bakery that, as the name implies, serves the best pastries; the Coffees of Hawaii that serves delicious cookies; and the Molokai Pizza Cafe where you should taste incredible pizza and delicious pancakes.
