The Qur'an Gate or Shiraz Gate in the city of Shiraz. In the past, this gate was the entrance to the city. The shape and look of the gate are reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris or the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Why is the gate in Iran named after the Quran? There is an explanation for this fact. There is a special room at the top of the gate that stores an ancient edition of the holy book of all Muslims. There is a belief that everyone who walks through the gate gets the blessing, and the religion of that person is not important.
The Shah Cheragh Mosque in Shiraz. This mosque is the funerary monument with the tomb of the brothers Ahmad and Muhammad. Initially, it was a small tomb with the ashes of the deceased brothers, but sometime after their death, Queen Tashi Khatun ordered to build a mosque on their burial site. This is how the history of one of the most beautiful mosques in Iran started. This shrine is also known as the Mirror Mosque. Why is it called that way? Its décor consists of countless pieces of mirror glass and colorful pieces of mica that form gorgeous mosaics, shine beautifully in sun rays, and reflect in numerous mirrors installed inside the mosque.
