Gomel is a very charming Belarusian city, full of unspeakable charm. Many visitors of the city prefer to stroll through its picturesque streets in the evening, because in the light of the lamps Gomel looks simply unique. The main historical landmark of the city with a centuries-old history is the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble. The central facility of the ensemble is the palace of Rumyantsev-Paskevich, which is made in the style of strict classicism. Its construction took place during the period when Gomel belonged to Prince Paskevich. In 1834 the palace was bought by Ivan Paskevich. He broke a wonderful park next to him with a very rare species of plants and shrubs. Not far from the palace stands the solemn and monumental Peter and Paul Cathedral. An equally important religious landmark is the chapel-tomb of Princes Paskevich. If you go further into the park, you can see a monument to the victims of the Great Patriotic War, opened here in the middle of the last century. On the territory of the palace complex is a chic lake, on the shore of which there are also interesting places to explore - the Tower of Fame and the Winter Garden. From the territory of the palace ensemble you can see a wonderful view of the Sozh River and its picturesque shores, which even in winter conquers with their beauty and chic views.
