There are many diving schools on the island and you will usually find an instructor, who speaks your language, and the rent of the equipment cost less than in other parts of Thailand. There are 70 diving schools on the island and the highly competitive environment has a good impact on the quality of training. What is interesting is that Ko Tao is in second place in the world for the quantity of PADI certificates. Some centers provide accommodation for the time of the training. The underwater world of Ko Tao is very rich. Here you can find sea turtles, and stingrays, and barracudas, and reef and whale sharks, and sometimes even a rare sixgill shark. Kilometers long coral reefs attract many different sea animals. Besides reefs and caves, you can find three sunken ships.
