Tours is of great interest to fans of sightseeing, as many ancient and medieval sights have survived in the city. The main symbol of Tours is the beautiful Cathedrale Saint-Gatien, the construction of which lasted for nearly three hundred years. This spectacular medieval building represents a unique combination of different architectural styles; the height of cathedral towers is 70 meters. The cathedral has retained many original elements, including elegant 13th-century stained-glass windows. The rue Colbert is a real city attraction and a walk along will bring a lot of experience. A huge number of beautiful half-timbered houses usually photographed by travelers have remained here. The imposing architectural building - the Archbishop's Palace – is located next to the cathedral. After touring historic sites visitors can stroll through the beautiful ancient garden; there is the famous Liban cedar on its territory. The height of this mighty tree is 33 meters and age is about two hundred years. One of the most visited cultural venues of the city - the Museum of Fine Arts – is in the garden too.
