Not only those who’re fond of historic sites would love Tilos Island but also the ones who prefer active holidays. The island is quite small, so locals prefer to walk rather than use cars. That is why the majority of more or less large settlements and specific natural objects are connected with each other by footpaths. There are about 20 routes of different length. Basically, you can easily find yourself an activity you would like most – from 2-kilometer-long walks, for instance, a trip from Megalo Chorio to Mikro Horio, to real three-day camping with sleeping under the open sky. Mount Profitis Ilias is the highest local mountain from where you can enjoy a picturesque view of the island. Besides, you can discover the island moving around by bus, too. Or you can go to the capital and rent a bicycle or a car in the local port. The island is a perfect place for bicycle ridings, as traffic here is quite low and, what is more, you can get very close to the most attractions. In case if you’re more interested in discovering secluded bays or remote beaches, then we would recommend you to rent a boat. There are several beaches with diverse facilities – the largest one is right near the capital – as well as about a dozen of solitary places where you can get to only by water transport.
