4. Sellers at markets usually tell higher prices to foreigners. Do not forget to bargain – it is common to bargain in Tajikistan. If you fail to do this, prepare to pay more.
5. Having arrived in Tajikistan and checked into the hotel, don’t forget to register your arrival. Hotels do not do this, tourists need to register themselves.
6. If you plan to visit Kuhistani Badakhshan Autonomous Region, you need to obtain a special pass to be able to enter it. The pass is issued for the duration of the registration period.

13. Make sure you always have at least some cash with you. There are ATMs in Tajikistan but they are not widespread and are mostly located in big cities only.
14. It is possible to pay with bank cards but there are not many venues that accept them.
15. Tourists do not need to get any vaccines before a holiday in Tajikistan but keep in mind that this is a country with a hot climate, so it is always a good idea to be more attentive about personal hygiene.
