The Bicaz Gorge which is located in the eastern part of the Carpathian Mountains, connects the provinces Transylvania and Moldova, and is the longest and deepest river in this country. At the bottom of the gorge flows the Bicaz mountain river. Bicyclists – extremist will appreciate the mountain serpentine which stretches for 8 kilometers along the edge of the gorge. The Fagaras Castle in Romania is known by the tourists under the unofficial name 'Castle of Dracula'. The castle, built in 1301, served as the residence of the rulers of Wallachia, whose number was also Vlad III, 'Dracula'. The castle, which can be seen today, was erected in the 17th century during the great reconstruction. For more than 300 years, its external appearance has remained almost unchanging.

The old castle is the largest building of the town of the same name and is covered with the dark legends. Until 1969 this was a prison where the political prisoners were kept.
