The starting point of many sightseeing tours around the city is the Three Admirals' Square that remains one of the busiest places in Pylos. The main decoration of the square is a monument dedicated to the three admirals who participated in the legendary Battle of Navarino. Another interesting attraction is a huge plane tree located on the square. Planted here back in 1880, today it is striking in its size. The historic square is surrounded by many shops and restaurants. Visitors to the city will have the opportunity to stroll through the unique archaeological site called Ancient Pylos. In this area, researchers have discovered the ruins of unique ancient buildings, the most splendid of which was the Palace of Nestor. This Mycenaean palace was partially restored by the researchers.
