Escaldes doesn't have many landmarks to see; it's better known as health resort and is popular because of its thermal springs. Springs are in fact historical landmarks, since they were used back in times of the Roman imperia. Escaldes has only become a parish of Andorra in 1978. Gothic cross was installed at the town's square in memory of this event. Right in front of this memorial is the town's most popular religious landmark, the Church of Sant Jaume. The Roman building differs much from surrounding houses. The lombard bell tower is the most interesting part of the complex drawing tourists attention. The most unusual and the best known landmark of Escaldes is the Perfume Museum. This place is worth a visit by both women and men; a tour around the museum will be an exciting adventure. The museum hosts an impressive collection of aromas, while visitors have an opportunity to create their own flavour. CAEE is the biggest center of arts in town. It keeps a unique collection of local sculptors’ works and a collection of Romanesque arts. CAEE regularly hosts various exhibitions and cultural events. Another place of interest is the Matrioshka Museum. It attracts a lot of tourists and is quite interesting place to visit, if you want to know more about Russian culture and pay interest in this exotic souvenir.
