In the immediate vicinity of Ibiza, there is a unique historical village Balafia - a real open-air museum. In this village, there are only seven dwelling houses and beautiful watchtowers preserved on its territory. At the top of one of the towers, a cross was preserved. Locals believed that it helps to drive away evil spirits from the village. Hundreds of years ago, the coastal territory was often attacked by pirates and Turkish conquerors, which prompted locals to build numerous defensive structures. In addition to the fortification towers in this village, there are also underground shelters, in which locals hid from the conquerors.
For fans of cultural entertainment, in the resort is a very interesting Ethnographic Museum. It is located in an incredibly beautiful historic building. In the old villa, there is also a wine cellar which has also been converted to a theme hall. In it, visitors are told how wine was made on the island in the past. The museum often hosts exhibitions of contemporary art and entertainment.
