Hotel Kazbek Photo of Boutique Hotel Kazbek, Dubrovnik The historic building of Hotel Kazbek was constructed approximately five hundred years ago, when a noble family ordered to build this magnificent residence palace. During these five centuries, many things happened at the palace including fires and damages. The building was used as a prison, warehouse, and even a school. It changed many owners until it was purchased by Swiss company Valinge. The new owner restored the building and brought it back to life, so it can shine with its former glory and magnificence.
Lapad Hotel The oldest hotel in Dubrovnik, Lapad Hotel , was initially constructed as a resort. In 1912, Wilhelm Lerh, an Austrian aristocrat, bought a villa he liked and decided to expand it and turn into a hotel. The luxurious hotel was serving its numerous guests until the start of the World War II in 1941. During the period of military actions, Italian soldiers stayed at the hotel and later it was abandoned until 1949. Later, after a complete renovation, Lapad Hotel started accepting guests again, but the civil war in the 90s of the previous century once again changed the destiny of the hotel. For several years, the hotel replaced lost houses for homeless refugees. Only in 2008, after another extensive renovation of the historic building, Lapad Hotel is ready to serve guests of the new century. Copyright www.orangesmile.com
