An outstanding historical site is the Venetian Fort of Paleo Frurio, whose construction took place in the 15th - 16th centuries. It was the favorite residence of the Austrian Empress, and after her death, the residence was taken over by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Currently, the palace is an interesting museum, which presents a rich collection of antique furniture, antique dishes and works of art.
