A small thematic museum occupies a part of the cathedral. It exhibits a collection of antique religious artifacts. As numerous palm trees and other exotic plants grow here, the cemetery doesn’t look gloomy or depressive.
Perhaps, Museo della Carta is the most unusual cultural center in Amalfi. A local family established it – they decided to turn the old paper factory into an interesting thematic museum. Today, everyone can learn how the paper was manufactured in the region many years ago. Of course, samples of different paper types that were manufactured here are also present in the exhibition. In the past, the paper was produced from cotton and linen, so an excursion in this museum promises to be exciting. There is a souvenir shop that sells interesting memorable gifts in Museo della Carta. Needless to say, the majority of souvenirs are made from paper. Copyright www.orangesmile.com

The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, which was built here at the end of the 10th century, is another notable religious landmark in Amalfi. This is an eye-catching architectural landmark in the Byzantine style. The church has changed its look drastically over the millennia because of numerous reconstructions and redesigns.
