Beach recreation remains one of the most popular activities among guests of Alghero. To make your vacation even more exciting, combine sunbathing with excursions to the most notable natural attractions. Local fishermen discovered it yet in the 18th century. In the mid-20th century, a special ladder was carved in the rock. This ladder takes visitors directly to the entrance to the grotto. The ladder has 650 steps. Taking into consideration the complex location of Grotta di Nettuno, excursions to this landmark are possible only when the weather is calm and windless. The cave is very big – its main hall can accommodate up to 200 visitors. You will have a rare opportunity to admire unbelievably beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, and then enjoy panoramic views of the coastline from above. By the way, coastal waters in this area attract numerous divers because there are many gorgeous underwater caves, cliffs, and other interesting formations here.
