In the very beautiful modern building, there is the Museum of Nature and Man. The first idea of opening the museum came in the first half of the 20th century. It was opened in 1938. Originally, it presented only 8 themed collections dedicated to the natives’ culture and traditions. Over the years of its existence, the museum collection has increased significantly. In 1986, it occupied the new building where it is located now. Its collection includes over 140 000 exhibits. Archaeological and paleontological artifacts are especially interesting here. The unique culture venue is the outdoor Ethnographic Museum called Torum Maa. It was opened in 1987 at the initiative of the local people. Now, the extraordinary museum tells its visitors about the features of the natives’ lifestyle. It is located in an incredibly beautiful natural woodland area. On the territory of the museum, there are living quarters and outbuildings of different periods. In many houses, interesting themed collections are stored.
