Every year Trieste is visited by more and more travelers attracted by an opportunity to explore beautiful medieval buildings and interesting museums. On the scenic coast, in one of the high rocks there is the beautiful Miramare Castle. It was built as the main residence for Charlotte of Belgium and her husband. The beautiful building has perfectly preserved to this day. The sea landscape around it looks simply irresistible. In the suburban area there is the Duino Castle that is very impressive and beautiful too. During the Second World War it was repeatedly besieged, but the fortress has emerged from the ordeal triumphantly. On the grounds of the castle there is a large-scale underground bunker. It is18 meters depth and is available for a visit as part of ongoing tours around the castle. Duino is surrounded by fabulously beautiful gardens. The walk around would also bring a lot of experience. Not far from the castle there is the Victory lighthouse, the creation of world-renowned architect Arduino Berlam. This historic monument was built in memory of victims of First World War. Now it retains its navigation functions. In the center of Trieste there is one of the most important landmarks, Duomi di San Giusto. This religious building is about seven hundred years old.
