The formation of the museum's collection began in the 19th century. Now, they show documentary films about the history of the city every day and hold various thematic events. Of particular interest is the Kasteljarnau House Museum. This luxurious 15th-century mansion formerly belonged to a famous aristocrat, after whom it got its name. Within the walls of the historic mansion nowadays is an interesting museum that stores collections of antique furniture of the 18th - 19th centuries, works of art, as well as Chinese porcelain and medieval frescoes.
