The important historical symbol of the city is the old Gothic church that is usually called by the natives as “Schweriner Schloss”. The first church at its site was built over a thousand years ago. A few years later, it had to be destroyed due to a lack of space on the street. The first temple left nothing except the bell tower. The new church was built completely in 1248. In the second half of the 13th century, a unique relic was moved to the temple. It was a small piece of jasper with a drop of Jesus Christ’s blood.
