Those preferring to spend time in solitary atmosphere should pay attention to Plaka beach. This pretty large beach with decent equipment is a good fit for swimming and unhurried walks. Plaka beach is never too crowded; it provides an excellent opportunity to rest in calm ambience and enjoy amazing seascapes. The busiest beach on the island is Agios Georgios situated just a few minutes away from the capital’s downtown. If you plan to go there, it's worth to do that early in the morning to reserve a vacant place on the beach.
