This area is famous because this was the place, where the traces of Benahoares were found. Benahoares is an ancient civilization, which had lived in La Palma. Petroglyphs – unusual signs – can be seen in Don Pedro, Roque Faro, and Juan Adalid areas. Usually the signs are made of different spirals, circles, and geometrical figures, but their purpose is still unknown. An unusual and quite mysterious picture in the Aztecs style is the one of a man and a woman with an insect’s head, which looks more like an Egyptian goddess.
