What is interesting is that Ko Tao is in second place in the world for the quantity of PADI certificates. Some centers provide accommodation for the time of the training. The underwater world of Ko Tao is very rich. Here you can find sea turtles, and stingrays, and barracudas, and reef and whale sharks, and sometimes even a rare sixgill shark. Kilometers long coral reefs attract many different sea animals. Besides reefs and caves, you can find three sunken ships. Neither a beginner nor an experienced diver will be disappointed by the diving near Ko Tao. By the way, despite warm water, experienced divers suggest always wearing a wetsuit, otherwise, you might cut yourself with sharp reefs.
However, if you don’t want to get a license and learn how to operate a diving equipment, but you do want to see the underwater inhabitants, you can try snorkeling. The visibility is good, it is up to 40 meters, and the beaches are deserted. Just be careful: during the low tide, the water level goes down, so you shouldn’t dive with a running start. For those, who like rock climbing, there are a couple of places of different difficulty level on the island, where you can improve your skills. If you have a desire and a required level of training, you can choose several routes and climb the tops of the mountains. There are also some respectively exotic entertainments.
