Honduras is a democratic constitutional republic in the Central America. The country borders with Nicaragua on south, with Salvador on south-west and with Guatemala on west. On the territory of the botanical garden there is a very interesting bamboo forest, and a huge orchard. Honduras Fans of walks in historical places will be interested to visit the archaeological Park of Quirigua. On its territory you can see the preserved fragments of the buildings of the ancient city, which was founded in this area in the 2nd century AD and lasted until the 8th century. As in many other ancient Mayan cities, many unexplained artifacts were discovered here, including fragments of mysterious calendars, as well as sculptures whose true purpose remains a mystery. A few years ago, the mysterious archaeological park was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is well equipped. All the historical artifacts presented in the park are enclosed by special wooden annexes.

Comayagua town is home to one of the most famous religious buildings in the country. This is Santa Maria Cathedral. The building belongs to one of the best examples of the colonial period architecture. The grand opening of the cathedral took place in 1711. Initially, there were 16 altars in the church, but unfortunately only 4 altars have survived. The altars are the biggest treasure of the cathedral. They are made of wood and decorated with magnificent gliding and carved ornament. The bell tower has a clock that was gifted to the city by Philipp II in order to celebrate the opening of the cathedral.
