Not so long ago the city was the "automobile capital" of the GDR. Today you will see the reminders of those times in Automobilbau Museum Eisenach (Automobile Museum), which explosions feature most interesting exhibits, from a small Dixie to the latest model of Wartburg, which have been produced in the city.
However, other attractions of this beautiful city also attract numerous admirers. The name of Martin Luther is closely connected with this city. Moreover, Luther House attracts visitors with its unique beauty that is usual for all stone and wooden architecture of the Middle Ages. Those, who are interested in architecture, will be surely drawn by the "narrow house", the width of which is just 2.05 m. The house features a small collection of antique furniture, sculptures and paintings.
The mechanical mentioning of all attractions of Eisenach simply does not make sense. The whole city is a wonderful museum. No matter how much time you have spent in it, you will feel sorry to leave.

The City Hall was last reconstructed in 1996.
One of the most beautiful buildings in the city is the Kreuznacher House. This luxurious mansion was built for one of the local merchants in 1539. In the 17th-18th century, the old house belonged to many outstanding owners. Today, it serves as a tourist office.
The amazing Karthaus Park also attracts not only with its nature, but also from the historical point of view. At one time, there was a great monastery in the place where the park is located now. At the beginning of the 18th century, it was decided to make a royal garden here. Then, the monastery was left in disrepair and destroyed. At its site, a wonderful park with branchy trees, flower beds and other decorative elements was made. Today, one of the main attractions in the park is an old indoor gallery. It was planned to create a beautiful resort here. However, this plan hasn’t been executed, as there are precious mineral springs in the park.
It will be very interesting for fans of unusual excursions to visit the old malthouse. It was built in 1873 and used for storing malt that then was delivered to local breweries. Today, this historical building serves as an interesting industrial museum with the collection of exhibits of the 19th centuries. Some part of the historical building is occupied by the International Jazz Archive.
