Bavaro is a wonderful exotic town in the Dominican Republic that is known as one of the best beach resorts. This is also a paradise for people who enjoy active rest. It took only 25 years to turn this unknown area of wild nature with endless mango groves and untouched beaches into a luxury resort. Today there are over 30 tourist complexes in this town. The resorts have different design and service, but one thing they all share is a fantastic, luxurious beach with white sand.

The sea in this region is calm due to cays that protect the lagoon from waves. Along the azure coast line grow endless coconut palms. Spacious sand beaches, tender sun, and silent lagoon – isn’t this what every tourist dreams about? Apart from sunbathing and swimming you can participate in multiple sports entertainments and water attractions, or visit one of famous local national parks. Manati Park Bavaro is considered the most popular one. This is also the only national park in the Dominican Republic where you can see dolphins. In the vicinity of the city there are several fascinating natural objects, such as "Palm Cemetery." So called is the marshland, where you can see a lot of dead trees. Tree trunks rise straight from the water, creating an incredible surreal landscape. Many tourists come here specially to take the original photos, these places attract ornithologists too. The catch is that the swamp has become home to many species of aquatic birds, which attract not only curious tourists, but also some professional researchers. 

For those fond of modern zip-lines it is worth visiting Bavaro Adventure Park, it is a popular holiday destination among family travellers. This large rope town was equipped in a beautiful park area, where travellers are offered dozens of interesting attractions. They can go on the bungee, walk along the rope bridges among the treetops, and there are some rides that are suitable even for young kids. This amusement park even has an excellent Dinopark, where you can take pictures with impressive figures of dinosaurs. 

Mandatory part of such holiday should be a visit to the local malls and shops, where the most popular shopping centre is the Palma Real Shopping Village. It has a very beautiful building in the colonial style, and this shopping centre features hundreds of kinds of commodities. Here you can buy modern clothes and accessories, as well as to choose interesting souvenirs and dishes at local eateries. 

The real attraction of Bavaro is jewellery store “Harrison's Fine Caribbean Jewellers”, in which customers are offered unique jewellery with precious and semiprecious stones. Here, visitors can watch how the jewellers work, as well as book jewellery to be made according to their individual sketch. Many tourists visit the jewellery shop as a museum, but to leave without buying is not an easy task. 

Not far from the Bavaro is a very fascinating Oleg Bat House Cave, the primary inhabitants of which are the bats. Some incredibly interesting excursions are available in this cave, during which you can watch its inhabitants and admire the fantastic stalactites and stalagmites.
