More to see in Ashgabat
If you feel like it's time to diversify your tours of historic sites, go check local entertainment centers and picturesque parks. There are also lots of things to do for fans of natural attractions in Ashgabat. One of the most unusual sites that you can visit is the Baharden Cave in the vicinity of Ashgabat. This picturesque cave has been known to the local residents since the 18th century. Among the features of the cave are not only incredibly beautiful stalactites and stalagmites but also a wonderful underground lake. At the beginning of the 20th century, the cave was visited by several scientific expeditions. Interestingly, scientists made a lot of interesting discoveries here. The cave is located at a depth of 55 meters. However, thanks to underground springs, the water in the lake is always surprisingly warm - its constant temperature is about 37 °C. The cave is inhabited by bats and rodents, which doesn't prevent it from being very popular among both tourists and locals. One of the most beautiful places to walk is the vast park named after the ancient ruler Oghuz Khagan. It covers an area of about 15 hectares, and its main decoration is a beautiful fountain complex that consists of 27 fountains. It is very interesting to watch the fully synchronized colored fountains. The complex is adorned with statues of ancient heroes, and a variety of landscape decorations complement all this splendor. It is noteworthy that the fountain complex is equipped with solar panels. … Read further
