1. The transportation system of the city is well-developed, so you can easily move around the city by buses. Tickets can be purchased from a driver. Travellers, who expect to ride a bus a lot around the city, are recommended to purchase a special pass called «FirstDay ticket», which is valid for one day.
2. Taxi is better to be called by phone as it’s really hard to stop a free car on the streets of the city. You can also find a taxi on a special parking located on Back Wynd Avenue or near the train station.
3. «1car1 Car Hire» and «Arnold Clark» are considered the best car rental stations in terms of price. In order to rent a vehicle you will need an international class driver's license and a credit card of any international bank.
4. Large shopping complexes are simply the best place for shopping. They feature not only largest selection of products, but also more beneficial prices comparing to small boutiques. «Bon Accord Centre», «The Academy», «St. Nicholas Centre», «Union Square » and «Trinity Centre» are considered the largest shopping centers of the city. On weekdays large shopping malls are open until 20:00, and small shops usually work until 17:30.
6. You can also easily participate in bus tours to London, Edinburgh and Glasgow from Aberdeen. Bus tours to certain cities are organized several times a day. In order to learn more about the travel, visit the bus station, which is located near the railway station.
7. The port area, which is located to the east from the railway station, is the place where you can sign up for a ride to the Shetland Islands. The ferry leaves several times a day.
