Starting from the 20s of the 16th century and for almost two hundred years, this city belonged to Mongols. During this period, starting from 1584, Lahore was the capital of the Mughal Empire. After that, the Sikh period started in Lahore. Once again, the city became the capital. In 1848, when the British were fighting with the Sikhs, the British army became the winner.
