Six Senses to Open a Hotel in Lisbon in 2025

News To continue its urban development plans, Six Senses searches for majestic and breathtaking locations in the most iconic cities around the world. Excellent quality, sustainable design, authentic guest experiences, and focus on wellness have long become the calling card of the popular brand. With a recent opening of a hotel in Istanbul and more hotels in London, Rome, New York, and Bangkok under construction, Six Senses continues its strategic expansion and announces a new hot destination in the capital of Portugal. The company will open a hotel in the heart of Lisbon. This is going to be the second hotel in Portugal by Six Senses after the Six Senses Douro Valley.

The Six Senses Lisbon will be located in two heritage buildings, a converted 17th-century Palacio Lavra and Palacio de Pedrosas. The hotel’s building is adjacent to a popular landmark of the Portuguese capital – the Elevator do Lavra funicular railway. The new hotel will be an excellent choice for all leisure tourists who want to explore the city on foot as the Coliseu Theater, Politeama Theater, and fashionistas’ all-time favorite Liberdade Avenue are located nearby.

The Six Senses hotel in Lisbon will have 114 guest rooms scattered between two buildings. The Palacio de Pedrosas will retain much of its original design. Antiquities, classic art, a collection of books, traditional Portuguese furniture, and handmade textiles create a contemporary look. Guest rooms are generously sized and have large doors and windows. High ceilings make the space airy. Suites come with fitted kitchens and outdoor terraces. The latter have charming sofas and a small dining area.

Hand-painted ceramics, wooden counters with handmade tapestries, earthy tones, and traditional Portuguese touches create a truly authentic look of the Palacio Lavra. Public areas feature high ceilings, exotic frescos, sculptures, and soft plants. It would be a mistake to forget to mention the luscious rooftop terrace with striking views of the city and a cozy private garden with glass atriums covered with vine.

Good food is an essential part of Portuguese culture. Simple and always fresh ingredients are mixed to make mouthwatering food. The main restaurant, which follows the Eat With Six Senses concept, uses fresh and mostly seasonal ingredients. There will also be an organic restaurant, a greenhouse bar, an all-day coffee bar, and a lounge bar.
