A Hotel in Krabi Offers Forest Bathing to Its Guests

News The Banyan Tree hotel in Krabi, Thailand, has prepared an interesting and unusual experience for its guests. A gentle and relaxing forest bath is a perfect way to forget about bustling and stressful city life, cell phones, and no time for ourselves.

The hotel has a fantastic location close to Khao Ngon Nak National Park famous for its diverse and beautiful flora and fauna. Guests of the hotel will be mesmerized by striking panoramic viewpoints with vistas of the nearby islands and the charming Andaman Sea. It is hard to find a better destination for activities like birdwatching, hiking, and taking photographs of the gorgeous tropical forest.

Foreign bathing doesn’t actually imply taking a bath. Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese term that translates as “forest bathing”. Appeared in the 1980s, this activity means taking a slow walk in a forest and enjoy its fresh atmosphere. Japanese medicine recognizes this practice as a healing activity that maintains mind, body, and soul in optimal condition. It is both an exercise and a way to connect with nature. Forest bathing is also believed to prevent cancer and other diseases. People who practice forest bathing have reduced stress levels, better concentration, and fewer cases of depression or insomnia.

As Banyan Tree focuses on wellbeing, it decided to offer this activity to its guests. A walk starts near the resort and covers the most scenic viewpoints of the area, as well as some of its natural wonders like waterfalls. The hotel is situated on Tubkaek Beach. It takes roughly 45 minutes to get to the hotel from Krabi International Airport. The resort has a serpent as its symbol, and serpentine design elements can be seen throughout the resort. Designers found their inspiration in a local legend that the Dragon Crest Hill nearby is home of the naga, a mythical serpent.

Opened in October 2020, Banyan Tree Krabi offers 72 villas and suites, each of which comes with a private pool. On the site of the resort, there are also two restaurants, a kids’ club, a beach bar, an outdoor wedding site, a meeting center, and a rainforest-inspired spa center. Forest bathing activity is available to guests of all ages. Groups usually start in the morning, and hotel managers suggest leaving cellphones at the hotel and enjoying true relaxation.
