Deutsche Hospitality Opens a Hotel in Lausanne

News Deutsche Hospitality doesn’t slow down its expansion plans and announces a new addition to the Switzerland portfolio. This time, the German company opens a hotel in Lausanne. The Zleep Hotel Lausanne, which is set to start its business in the municipality of Chavannes-près-Renens in 2023, will be the second hotel by Deutsche Hospitality in the country.

It is reported that the new hotel will be a part of large mixed-use development. It will be a large complex that will include not only a hotel but also retail space, offices, 30 residential units, and even 300 apartments for students. Zleep is an economy brand of Deutsche Hospitality. The company also has a higher rank hotel operating in Switzerland – the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère Davos – and plans to open two more hotels under the IntercityHotel brand. These will be hotels at Zurich and Geneva airports.

The Zleep Hotel in Lausanne will be opened in a new building. Located only a few kilometers from the city center, the hotel will feature elegant and smart design and high sustainability standards. While developing the project, much attention was paid to the “Minergie” scheme. The new Lausanne hotel will have 120 rooms in total, a spacious lobby with a reception area, a restaurant (serves breakfast), and a bar. The hotel will also have a charming terrace with heart-warming views of surroundings.

For this project, Deutsche Hospitality partnered with Gestiparcs Immobilier SA, a Swiss-based developer. The existing hotel in Zurich and the coming hotel in Lausanne are just the start of the future development of the Deutsche Hospitality’s Swiss portfolio. The company wants to offer its economy brand in more locations across Europe and is confident about its success.

Lausanne is a part of Vaud, the country’s French-speaking canton. Located close to Lake Geneva, Lausanne is an important economic, cultural, and educational hub. Leisure tourists visit this city to see such landmarks as the Chateau Saint-Maire, Notre Dame Cathedral, and numerous museums. This is also a large center of recreation tourism with numerous parks, green areas, fields for playing various sports, and pools. Finally, nearly 50,000 students study in Lausanne – the city provides a foundation for start-ups and research centers.
