Fully Vaccinated Tourists Can Now Enter Qatar

News Good news for travelers who want to visit Qatar. Starting from July 12, 2021, travelers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are permitted to enter the country. This is definitely a relief for hotels in Doha and other Qatar cities that were unable to perform normally due to limitations. The Ministry of Public Health explained the rules of entering the State of Qatar and published the list of approved vaccines.

The new entry policy is valid for travelers arriving by air, land, and sea. The Ministry of Public Health also published a list of precautionary measures aimed to protect citizens, residents, and guests of Qatar. It is important to ensure that everyone stays safe and healthy, and the ability to travel doesn’t cause the spread of the virus.

In order to enter the country, travelers need to register on the official “Ehteraz” website and provide all the documents required for entry. It is important to do this at least 12 hours before the arrival in Qatar. The rule applies to fully vaccinated citizens, residents, and visitors. Additionally, they need to take a PCR test in the country of departure. The health center, in which the test is conducted, must be approved by the Ministry of Health. This certificate is valid for 72 hours. Non-vaccinated citizens and residents of Qatar can enter the country and are obliged to take the test too.

The new regulations also divide countries of departure into several categories (green, yellow, and red). There may be quarantine requirements for visitors from certain countries, so it is better to check the list beforehand if you plan to visit Qatar. At the moment, Qatar is one of the safest countries to travel to as it is among the top ten countries in the world with the highest percentage of vaccinated people. Citizens of GCC who had COVID-19 infection need to present a certificate proving the occurrence of COVID-19, a PCR test, and the vaccination certificate (at least one dose of any of the approved vaccines).

Here is the list of the vaccines approved in Qatar: Pfizer / BioNTech (Comirnaty), AstraZeneca (Coveshield / Oxford / Vaxepheria), Moderna (Spikefax), and Jansen / Johnson & Johnson (one dose). Additionally, travelers vaccinated with the Sinopharm vaccine need to take an antibody test upon arrival. If the test is positive, they are free to enjoy their stay in Qatar. If the result is negative, travelers need to take a PCR test and undergo quarantine, the length of which is determined by the country of departure.
