The castle with the romantic name 'Schwalbennest' is located in one of the most picturesque districts of Crimea, not far from Gaspra town. One of the main characteristics of the castle is its location. Swallow's Nest was built on the summit of Avrorina Mountain, whose height above the sea forms 40 meters. The first wooden castle on this site was built at the end of the 19th century, after the close of the Russian-Turkish war.
In a few years the castle changed several owners. Originally, it belonged to a Russian general who was glorified during the war, and later - the court physician AKTobin. Among his owners were the Russian merchant Rakhmanina, as well as the oil industry Baron Steingel, who created the modern exterior of the picturesque castle. The Baron has begun the great reconstruction in the early 20th century. Already in 1912, the reconstruction of the castle had ended. At the order of the baron a small garden next to the tiny castle, which later fell after the strong earthquake into the sea along with a part of the rock.
