The unique natural sight with the romantic name 'staircase into the sky' will definitely please the hiking fans. 'Stairway to Heaven' - this is the name of the Haiku hiking trail, which is located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu and stretches through the complex mountain range. The narrow Zickzagweg is laid out on the mountain slopes and climbs up to the height of 850 meters. Tourists who cross the whole strenuous route have an excellent reward on the summit - the wonderful panorama of the island and the green hills covered districts.

The path Haiku begins next to the small settlement of the same name. The end point of the path is the summit of Mount Pu'ukeahiakaho. The last stretch of the path is considered to be most complicated. It is a staircase of numerous low steps, fenced with the sparse wooden beams. The road was erected in 1942 for the workers, who were concerned with the laying of the telephone cable to the basis of the war navy of the USA. Originally the path, built in the dangerous mountain slopes, was built of wood. After completion of the construction, the path lost the original meaning and was forgotten. In 2003, the road, consisting of 3 992 steps, was completely renovated.
