The Palace and Park of Versailles, France One of the most amazing points in history of Versailles is the fact that all the bills, one way or another connected with the construction of the palace, have survived to these days. According to current estimates, the sum spent on the construction is incredible. It makes out 259.6 billion euros. Almost half of this amount was spent on interior decoration of the palace. It takes several hours to appreciate the majesty of one of the most luxurious palaces of Europe. Each room is full of antique jewelry and works of art. Some premises have an absolutely stunning elegant finish of walls and ceiling.

Huge crystal chandeliers, paintings and frescoes of impressive scale, refined furniture and variety of gilded sculptures make the place impeccable. The surrounding garden is worth the palace. It’s delightful to visit it in summer at the weekend, when a large fountain in the garden is working. On weekdays, the garden is available for public access. Guests can relax on one of the benches in the shade of trees, as well as walk through the garden and admire ancient sculptures. Next - Palace and Park of Fontainebleau
