Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic Cathedral in Europe. It is difficult to find its equal in beauty. Its construction began in 1401. It was fully completed in 1519. A huge building was built on the site of the destroyed old mosque. The cathedral building impresses not only with its rich exterior design but also with its incredible scale. The building is 116 meters long and 76 meters wide.

According to one of the legends, the cross kept in the cathedral was made of the first gold that Christopher Columbus brought from America.

Another legend says that the tomb of the great navigator is located on the territory of the cathedral. But there is no actual evidence for this. An interesting feature of the Seville Cathedral is the charming courtyard. Orange trees grow in it. It is a preserved part of an ancient mosque. The main decoration of the interior of the cathedral is its main altar. It was formed in the 15th century. The height of the altar is 7 meters.
