Pre-Hispanic City of Chichen-Itza, Mexico The main mystery of the ancient city is the reason for its depopulation, which occurred in 1194. For unknown reasons, the large and prosperous city, which had recovered from attacks and looting, went deserted overnight. For many years, Chichen Itza was being a regular venue for the archaeological research. Scientists managed to discover lots of historical monuments. The center of the ancient city is the Temple of Kukulkan, the huge 24-meter pyramid. Numerous secrets and mysteries are associated with it.

In the days of autumn and spring equinox, visitors can observe the unique spectacle of the feathered serpent. The sun's rays penetrate the pyramid in such a way that the shadow forms a kind of figure of a snake. As the sun moves, a figure creeps to its head, which is carved on the steps of the pyramid. This is just one of the many mysteries hidden by the ancient city. The remaining figures of gods and wells that were used for sacrifices, the old observatory, and the enormous field for ball games are just some of the amazing attractions, which visitors will be able to see in the pre-hispanic city.
