The Guimar Pyramids, located in the Spanish city of the same name, have recently become one of the most visited sites in the country. At present there are six pyramids on the territory of the popular Canarian spa. They have the regular step form and are made of stone. In contrast to the other old buildings of this kind, the Guimar Pyramids have no burden of terrible secrets and legends. They were built by the locals without any deep purpose.

Piramides de Guimar, Spain In the development of the new countries the farmers cleaned them of the stones. Since ancient times there has been a custom in the Canaries to put the stones into the pyramids. There were very many such pyramids on the island of Tenerife, as well as on the other islands. Later, however, they fell into decay. Some pyramids have taken the locals apart to build the houses. The pyramids served as the source of the free building material.

Many scientists including Tur Hayerdal disagree with this theory of the appearance of the pyramids. In addition to the rolling stones from the local fields, the lava beds were also used during the construction of the pyramids. The ground was paved carefully before the pyramid was built. And the regular architectural form of the buildings and inexplicably inexplicable: why would you form the pyramids from the stones if you could just pile them up? Today, six ancient pyramids are united in the great complex, on whose territory there are several museums and several excellent recreation areas. Many tourists strive to visit Guimar pyramids on the day of the summer westerly turn to observe the unique phenomenon - the twilight - still a mystery of the strange buildings.
