Wave Rock, Australia
From series “The Most Surrealistic Places of the Earth”Lenght: 110 meters. Height: 15 meters.
In Western Australia is the unusual rock with the poetic name Wave Rock (stone wave), at the sight of which one can hardly believe that such a formation can exist on the earth. The rock is located in the desert, in the surroundings of the Hayden town. The length of the rock massif is about 110 meters. The height of the stone wave reaches 15 meters. The name of the rock is due to its unusual form. The rock really looks like a huge sea wave, which is frozen off the coast.
The Steinwelle is known not only among the active travelers and the nature lovers, but also among the Rockfans. For a few years now, a big rock festival is taking place, where the world-famous bands play, next to the natural sight in the second half of September. The locals, on the other hand, avoid these places and consider them abnormal. In the rock is the Mulka Cave, which the aborigines named in honor of the cannibal boy. On the walls of this cave one can see the strange handprints that are so high that ordinary people can not reach them. To the beginning - Red Beach
