New York is also in a list of cities where one of the main danger is the water. Today it is one of the largest and the most populated cities in the world. When a disaster comes, a great number of people dies. For example, when the Sandy hurricane came to New York, 43 people died. If the government doesn’t begin to build the special borders today, the lower valley of Hudson River and Long Island district can go closer to the water for 30-60 meters in 2080.

After the destroying hurricane the supervisor gave the beginning to the huge project. The main aim of was to build a number of special constructions, which will prevent further sea-level rise. Approximately this project will cost about 19,5 million dollars for the city. However, specialists say that in case of another destroying hurricane, all these constructions will be useless.

Tropical storm Sandy got into the city in 2012. The hardest days were on 30th - 31st October. According to the strong long-lasting showers, the wind was about 150 km per minute. Seven underground tunnels were flooded. District Kwins was drastically destroyed after the disaster. There burned more than 50 buildings because the electricity lines were broken. The destroying hurricane led to several huge emergencies, one of them has happened on Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Station, where stopped the reactor. It is rather hard to save the city from another natural disaster. New York is still taking the first position in a list of cities going under the water in the nearest time. Next - Miami
