SS Ayrfield Wrecks has set for eternal display near the Olympic village in Sydney. Its second name is "The Floating Forest", this name is closer to travellers than the official one. It was given because its right part is densely forested. The steamship is a real historical landmark. It was built in Great Britain in 1911.
During the Second World War it was used for transporting the service ammunition and fuel. The steal was a basic building material for the steamship. Its length is about 80 meters and its weight is about 1 000 ton. Today this abandoned ship you can see in the Homebush Bay. A great number of trees have found their home on its broadside. They make the ship look marvellous. Mostly, thanks to this peculiarity, the ship is quite popular among tourists.
