Uffizi Gallery is one of the oldest museums of Europe. It is known not only thanks to its rich collections, the building itself is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The building has begun in 1560 on a direction of the Tuscany Duke Cosimo I de' Medici. Originally in this marvellous building was planned to place several administrative and court institutes. Now, this historical building is a famous gallery with the best Renaissance artists’ works.

Uffizi Gallery, Italy Visitors can adore the masterpieces of Leonardo DaVinci, Michelangelo, Rafael and Giotto. Some of the works belong to the 12th century. The whole area of the museum halls is 13 000 square meters. The museum was opened at the end of the 16th century. The building was made especially for the gallery. In 1580 the building works were finished. In order to realize the whole project, the workers ruined several nearby streets and early medieval buildings.

About 50 halls are used for priceless art pieces. All museum pictures are exhibited in a strong chronology. In the museum apart from pictures, you can see wonderful ancient sculptures and an interesting collection of archaeological finds. When you will finish with the gallery, go to the inner yard.
