Majestic Theatre, USA

The unique building of 1925 – the Majestic Theatre – has placed in the centre of Dallas. At the beginning of the 20th century, the theatre was in the centre of the large square that was popular with its entertainment venues. Today it is the only reminder of the rich cultural life of this area. In 1917 in Dallas, the largest and most popular theatre was burned. At the place of it was built a new one.

The theatre has received a luxurious building in a Renaissance style. About 2 million dollars were spent on the building, for that time it was an enormous sum of money. The building of the theatre is big and marvellous. Originally there were placed several offices.

Every element of the decoration is a unique one. Some halls have ceiling decorated with a delicate fresco that imitates an azure sky with clouds. The stairs are made from outstanding marble, the halls are lightened with large cut-glass chandeliers. In 1976 the theatre had its first reconstruction. Before the reconstruction, the hall can accommodate 2 400 spectators, after there has left only 1 570 seats. The stage was enlarged and thanks to that in the theatre repertoire have appeared spectacular dancing shows.  Next - Kolner Rathaus
