Baltimore City Hall is a quite interesting building form the architectural point of view. Since 1875 it is used according to its intended purpose. The building combines elements of Renaissance and Baroque styles. In the second half of the 20th century, the future of the building was under a question. The local administration has to decide whether to reconstruct the whole building or to build a new one.
In 1974 they made up a decision to rebuild this historical city hall and modernize its rooms for administrative needs. For reconstruction were spent about 10 million American dollars. After the reconstruction, there was a city administration as well as the town court. Today a historical building is known as a place of several famous crimes. The last much-publicized crime was in April 1976.
