Juzcar, Spain
From series “The Most Magical and Picturesque Cities in the World”
In Spain there is an amazing city of Juscar, which is known to many as "Village of Smurfs". This amazing town, located in the picturesque mountainous region of Andalusia, can be called fabulous in every sense of the word. It was here that in 2011 the shooting of the regular film about small blue men - smurfs, took place. Especially for shooting, all 175 houses, as well as a church and a cemetery located on its territory, were repainted blue
It took 4000 liters of paint to give the town its current look. After the completion of shooting it was decided to leave the houses in a new attractive form. For the redesigned Juskar, smurfs became a real symbol. While walking around the city, their figures can be seen literally everywhere. Small blue men hold signboards of cafes and shops, their images are presented on the walls of many houses and even on the facade of the church. For a few years, a miniature town, whose population is just over 200 people, has become a popular tourist attraction.
