Cathedral Timisoara Trei Ierarhi is the largest Orthodox Church in Romania. It was built in 1940 and until now it is the highest cathedrals in the world. The inner decoration works weren’t finished because of the war. But this wasn’t a reason not to dedicated a temple to God. Only 16 years after the official open, the decoration was finished.

Cathedral Timisoara Trei Ierarhi, Romania The Cathedral Timisoara Trei Ierarhi is a great architectural monument. One of the main peculiarities are the pointed towers. The highest tower is 96 meters high. It can have up to 4 000 believers at once. The main decoration of the cathedral is the wonderful art painting made by famous artist Afanasy Damian. The inner and outer decoration has a number of unique details. Even the chandeliers look unusual, no one other Orthodox Church doesn’t have such.

The wonderful cathedral is a most visited sightseeing in Timisoara. In the cellar was opened an interesting museum, where was placed a rich collection of medieval art pieces and manuscripts of the 16th century. The cathedral has a nice square. In the warm period of time, it is decorated with interesting landscape compositions. The cathedral is very beautiful even in the evening. At night it is decorated with wonderful art lightning.
