From series “Famous Miniature Museums of Architectural Objects and Cities”

In the British city of Bekonscot there is an eponymous park of miniatures. It is the oldest theme park of its kind and covers an area of 6070 square meters. The park is a small copy of a village with many interesting buildings and landscapes. Its opening took place a little less than a hundred years ago, in the 20s of the last century. The author of the park is one of local residents - Roland Cullingham, who many years ago decided to create an amazing miniature village for personal purposes.

The uniqueness of the park lies in the fact that all the objects on its territory were constructed exclusively from natural materials - foam cardboard or cement. It is obvious that for years of the park's existence it hasn’t been possible to preserve all its layouts in their original form, but some buildings remain unchanged from the 1920s.

In a miniature village an atmosphere of rural England of the early 20th century has accurately been recreated. Here, you can see the old railway, beautiful castles, meadows with windmills and even a coal mine. Trams and trains run on miniature roads. The main feature of the park is a breadboard model of the railway, that has a length of 15 km. It operates in the park since its opening. 12 trains run along the road. Each of which passes more than 3000 km a year. For many years, Baconscot has sent all the proceeds to other parks of miniatures. Next - Miniatur Wunderland
